Engle Lake

We left on Friday morning with a plan to hike to Rock Lake.  We were looking forward to a nice hike, a lake, some waterfalls and an old mine to explore.  But after a wrong turn and a long drive on a steep and winding dirt road, we ended up at the trail head for Lake Engle instead.

It was a very steep hike through a beautiful forest.  We ended up on a ridge overlooking the Cabinet mountains and several lakes.  The girls all did really well, even though it was a tough hike.  We all had shaky legs as we headed back towards the car, but it was worth it.

Blueberry Season Opens!

The Shingle Mill Blueberry Farm opened up for its first season of u-pick this weekend.  We are so excited because it is just down the street from our Farmhouse.

We took the opportunity to bring home some blueberries. Five girls and 45 minutes = 30 pounds of blueberries!

They were BIG, tasty and plentiful.

When I told the owner that my girls will eat their weight in blueberries if given the chance, he thought I was joking.  I wasn't.

M&M

We had a great visit from Mike & Molly and family.  It was so fun to have them around for the week.

The fun started with a hike to Snow Creek Falls.

We began the 4th of July with a Red, White and Blue Breakfast.

Then continued with the Sandpoint 4th of July parade.  You've got to love a small town parade.

The wind was in our favor and Kirk got everyone out (and back) on the Catamaran before we watched the fireworks over the lake later that night.

The week ended with a farm tour and hot dog roast.  We will miss having our Johnson cousins here!
