Painting

The color decision was made and I have started painting the farmhouse!  Rosemary was kind enough to volunteer her help and we began the project today.  We were able to paint three sides of the house (none of the garage) with one coat. Right now it looks like lipstick red which is not what we wanted.  With a little drying and another coat, it should look like this beautiful color:

Behr Dozen Roses

Tomorrow... a second coat, maybe some trim paint and possibly some red on the garage!

I was talking to a professional painter and she said that reds are the hardest color to get right. If the second coat doesn't look just the way you want try using columbia paints. The reason is something like they use a red base versus a mix of colors so the reds turn out better. . . or something like that. I am telling you this off of info from a random conversation I had a few months ago. She said that with red paint you have to pay good money to get the reds that look really good. Anyway, you guys are working hard and it is so fun to see it all coming together! We are mostly just hanging in there trying to have a baby or not have a baby depending on when Keith is in town :).

I love it - just right. I can't wait to see it in person . . . .some day.
