On Memorial Day we decided to have a little adventure. We wanted to hike to Caribou Lake. With little snow last winter, there was a good chance that the trail was clearer than normal for this time of year. We didn't see any snow and almost made it to the lake. Unfortunately, Caribou creek was too full to cross and we had to turn around. Still - a fun adventure.
We couldn't rock hop the creek and were just about to brave wading through the snow melt water when it started to downpour. The rain made our decision for us and we turned around and opted to visit the lake another time. I think we were pretty close.
Here the girls are waiting out the rain under cover of the trees.
Lunch at the trail head. We would have preferred the lake, but it wasn't meant to be.
On the way home we must have hit an unusually sharp rock - and got a flat tire. It was the perfect time to give Hannah her first lesson in changing a tire. I am grateful for a diligent husband who regularly checks the air pressure on my spare.
